What is REMake?

In the manufacturing industry, recycling and resource efficiency can unlock significant potential for innovation, growth and higher profitability. With an average 50% of all operating costs attributed to materials alone, major gains can be achieved with the help of REMake, a voucher scheme for manufacturing SME (Small and Medium Enterprises) in Wales.

How can REMake help your business?

REMake offers two levels of fully funded support for manufacturing businesses to help introduce or increase the use of recycled materials in products, processes or packaging. Simply click on the heading to find out more about the support available and who can apply.

Applications will be accepted from February 2011 until March 2012.

Voucher 1: Up to 6 days technical advice
Technical advice and guidance for incorporating or increasing recycled content including site visits, research and the production of a summary report and implementation plan.
The summary report can include:
- A review of the current position
- Potential to increase use of recyclate
- Potential capital investment required
- Identification of sources of input material
- Outline implementation plan and recommendations
- Potential cost savings/ROI and other benefits
Voucher 2: Up to 15 days hands on implementation support
Hands on implementation support specific to your business needs. This can include elements such as:
- Documented work plan and timetable
- 1-2-1 consultancy support
- Customer and supply chain support
- Quality management and control
- Sourcing of suitable input materials
- Life cycle assessment
- Testing plan and analysis
- Summary report and further recommendations
Voucher 2 is designed to help businesses move forward with the introduction or increased use of recycled content in their products, processes or packaging.

The scheme is open to manufacturing SMEs in Wales working in the following sectors*:
- Plastics
- Electronics
- Paper and card
- Packaging
- Textiles
- Metals
