Recycling industry

WRAP Cymru is helping to develop Wales’s infrastructure for recycling and reprocessing waste.

As a result of this work, we aim to keep more than 1.1m tonnes of waste out of landfill in just three years.

Support, funding and guidance

For existing recycling businesses, WRAP provides direct advice and support, particularly to SMEs.

In support of Wales’s push to become a Zero Waste nation, WRAP Cymru is also working with manufacturers to help increase the recycled content of their products. 

Boosting the economy

We are proud to be playing a key role in meeting a challenging interim target of recycling 70% of the waste in Wales by 2025.

In developing Wales’s recycling infrastructure, we will also help boost the Welsh economy through job creation in the sector. By supporting Welsh recycling businesses directly, we aim to increase turnover by £6m a year for the next three years.

The ultimate goal of enabling waste produced in Wales to be processed within its own borders is a challenge we are determined to respond to; therefore we are pleased to provide a range of capital grants and support.
