Resource efficiency and circularity: benefits for the public sector

WRAP Cymru and the European Resource Efficiency Knowledge Centre are delighted to invite you to this free event that will enable you to discover the many benefits of embedding sustainability into your organisation’s procurement practices, network with colleagues from across Wales and the EU and share learnings.

What will it involve?

Bringing together decision makers, intermediaries, buyers and procurement professionals, this event is a fantastic opportunity for you to exchange ideas, news and experiences, and to hear success stories from organisations – both here in Wales and further afield in the EU - who have benefitted from incorporating the principles of sustainable procurement into their working practices.

Delegates will benefit from interactive workshops that set out the strategic and commercial benefits that can be gained through prioritising resource efficiency, circular economy and sustainability when procuring goods and services. Roundtable discussions will also provide the opportunity to discover the ways in which innovative approaches to procurement can enable organisations to meet goals set out in the Wellbeing of Future Generations Act 2015 and other strategic/legislative aims.

The event will be chaired by Head of WRAP Cymru Carl Nichols; other speakers will include Dr Mervyn Jones (Sustainable Global Resources Ltd.), Cuno van Geet (Rijkswaterstaat), Dr Andy Rees (Welsh Government), Rebecca Jones & Nerys Williams (Swansea Council), Simon Jones (Ministry of Furniture), Sophie Howe (‎Future Generations Commissioner for Wales), Alex Forrest (Eunomia) and Michael Mcleod (UniGreen Scheme).
