REC701-001 - Trialling the SCAP Clothing Longevity Protocol

Closing date:
7 January, 2015 - 13:30

Textiles is an area of strategic significance for WRAP. A key part of our work is the SCAP 2020 Commitment  - organisations from across the clothing sector – supply, re-use and recycle – working together to reduce the environmental footprint of clothing. The Commitment is delivered through the direct actions of signatories and with the help of supporters, and through consumer action which we seek to influence. Signatories and supporters pledge to adopt good practice in relevant Action Areas and measure and report annually on outcomes.

The objective of this project is to undertake sampling trials with volunteer partners from the UK retail supply chain in order to, in the long term, embed improved longevity procedures in brands that take part leading to clothes that last longer.

An important outcome of the work is the development of a manual that will be agreed and followed by retailers on the Longevity working group which will ensure good practice is followed in the product development process.

Please note, due to the holiday season this deadline has now been extended by two days to 7th January 2015.
