The current highlights and trends are:

Recovered glass container prices

Clear cullet prices declined from £20 per tonne to £15 per tonne between September and November, but prices had risen again to £20 in early December. 

Amber cullet prices have risen slowly since September. They reached £18 per tonne in December.  

Green cullet prices have fluctuated in recent months. In early December they stood at £15 per tonne.  

Mixed cullet prices have remained stable at £8 per tonne since August 2018. 

Glass PRN prices

Glass PRN prices continued to make strong gains, particularly in November and December when prices jumped from around £17 per tonne to over £30 per tonne. This is the highest price point seen since  July 2014. 

Glass packaging recycling

Total glass packaging recycled (including remelt and aggregate) totalled 326kt in 2018Q3.
