Come and Join Us!

On Thursday 11 September Love Food Hate Waste’s Liquid Greens Machine rolls into Cardiff to launch an exciting project in conjunction with Cardiff Council and Sainsbury’s. Over the next two years residents will be encouraged to help reduce food waste and save money by doing just one thing differently to cut the amount of food that’s thrown away.

The Liquid Greens Machine will be at the castle end of Queen Street from 08:00 – 14:00, serving delicious smoothies made from the fruit and vegetables that commonly get thrown away. We will be joined by a host of special guests, from Natural Resources Minister John Griffiths and the Lord Mayor of Cardiff to renowned chef Anand George. They will all be tasting smoothies and sharing their pledges to #DoOneThingDifferently.

It sounds like a great day, particularly since it looks like the weather will remain warm and dry. If you’re working or shopping in Cardiff on Thursday I hope you can come along and join in the fun.

Talking of joining us, if you plan to attend the WRAP Cymru Conference time is running out to reserve your free space.

We’ll be discussing how we can create a resource efficient future for Wales. There is a fantastic line-up of speakers including the Natural Resources Minister John Griffiths, WRAP CEO Dr Liz Goodwin and the Head of Love Food Hate Waste Emma Marsh, plus some really inspirational case studies from the Carmarthenshire Cheese Company, Powys County Council, Natural UK and Techlan. There’ll also be interactive sessions, a free networking lunch and afternoon workshops.

It’s on Thursday 16 October at Cardiff City Stadium and you can reserve your place here.

If that’s not enough, you might be interested in joining us for longer, as a member of the WRAP Cymru team. We’re looking for an experienced Communications Executive to join us on a fixed term contract until March 2016.

If you think you could fit the bill you can click here to learn more and apply.

I hope you can join us – in whichever way that might be.
