Five new reports from WRAP are now available and can be viewed by clicking on the titles below.

Digestates: Realising the Fertiliser Benefits for Crops and Grassland - A BEST PRACTICE GUIDE FOR FARMERS

This short document provides information on the agronomic and financial value of anaerobic digestates ('biofertilisers'), how they should be used and how they are regulated

Compost & Anaerobic Digestate Quality for Welsh Agriculture

Green and green/food composts were sampled from six Welsh facilities on November 2009 and March 2010 and tested (in triplicate) for a wide range of determinands. These data are presented here, alongside data for three English anaerobic digestates and a range of livestock manures / slurries. The benefits of the recycled materials for Welsh agriculture are briefly discussed.

Biofertiliser management: Best Practice for Agronomic Benefit and Odour Control

This report examines the potential links between digestate stability and digestate odour potential. It also examines the impacts of separation on digestate nutrient characteristics, and recommends spreading techniques that minimize odour potential while maximising beneficial use of the ammonium content of digestates ('biofertilisers').

Creating New Quarry Landscapes Using Quality Compost and Biofertiliser

This is a report funded by WRAP Cymru, designed to investigate the use of quality compost and biofertiliser blended with raw quarry waste, in order to create manufactured topsoil suitable as a growing medium for effective landscape restoration.

Biofertiliser and Compost Trials on Mineral Extraction Sites in Wales

Report on the innovative use of quality compost and biofertiliser to assist in the restoration of former and current mineral operations in Wales
