Cut your energy, water and waste disposal costs

Your business could reduce overheads by using less energy and water, consuming fewer raw materials and reducing waste.

The smallest changes can make the biggest difference, and Resource Efficient Wales is here to show you how. The service is free and easy to access.

Most businesses could use a lot less energy. Even simple low or no-cost measures can usually cut energy costs by 10 per cent, and you’ll start seeing the saving straight away. Reducing energy costs by 20 per cent may have the same impact on your bottom line as increasing sales by 5 per cent.

Every tonne of rubbish your business throws away could cost you £1,800* or more. Reducing the amount of waste you produce and recycling as much as possible can cut costs and even make you money.

The real cost of water supply and effluent disposal has risen by 40 per cent since 2002. Reducing the amount of water you use will save you money in supply charges, cut your effluent disposal bill, and help you save on energy for heating or chemicals for water treatment.

Eight out of 10 manufacturing businesses' CEOs believe materials shortages pose a risk to their companies. Designing and buying products that use fewer raw materials, are made from recycled materials, or are made to last longer can help reduce this risk and save money. It can also help reach new markets.
